Tesla Backseat Dashboard (“the app”) is developed by Infinitech, Vanja Vršić.
This Privacy Policy explains how the app uses permissions, handles device data, and interacts with external services.
The app does not collect, store, share, or sell any personal data.
All processing happens locally on the device, except when the user explicitly provides a Tessie API token.
The app does not collect:
personal information
account information
contact information
device identifiers
browsing data
analytics
advertising IDs
telemetry or usage statistics
background data
The developer does not receive any data from the app.
Used to:
communicate with the Tessie API (vehicle status, map images)
load map tiles (OSMDroid)
No personal data is transmitted.
Used to check if an internet connection is available.
Used only for optional Bluetooth functionality on the device.
No scanning or device data is collected.
Used to display the user’s location and heading on the map.
Location data:
never leaves the device
is not stored
is not shared
Used to keep the screen on while the app is active.
Used only to adjust screen brightness and timeout when showing maps or vehicle data.
Requires explicit user permission.
Used only to:
store map tile cache for OSMDroid
load offline map tiles
No personal files are accessed, read, uploaded, or shared.
If the user enters a Tessie token, the app uses it exclusively to:
retrieve vehicle status
retrieve climate, charging, and location data
control seat heating when requested by the user
request map imagery from Tessie
The Tessie token:
is stored only locally
is never transmitted to the developer
is never shared with third parties except directly to Tessie
can be deleted by the user at any time
The app does not collect any personal data and may be used by children under 13.
No data is gathered, stored, or transmitted.
The app does not share any information with:
third parties
advertisers
analytics platforms
external servers (other than Tessie if the user provides a token)
No user data is ever sold or distributed.
The app interacts only with:
Used to communicate with the user’s Tesla account through Tessie services.
Subject to Tessie’s own Privacy Policy.
Used for map rendering.
Only anonymous tile requests are made (no user identifiers).
All network communications use SSL/HTTPS encryption.
No personal or sensitive data is stored on servers.
This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically.
Any updates will be published on the same webpage where this policy is hosted.
